The Local History Collection has resources for California and Placer County research with emphasis on the Loomis Basin. The collection includes community histories, biographical sketches, Japanese-American oral histories, cemetery records, and a long-run collection of the Blue Anchor magazine. The collection is provided in partnership with the Placer County Genealogical Society.

The Placer County Archive is the official repository for historic records generated by the County of Placer since 1851. In addition to government records, holdings include photographs, maps, oral histories, newspapers, and private manuscripts.
