The Local History Collection has resources for California and Placer County research with emphasis on the Loomis Basin. The collection includes community histories, biographical sketches, Japanese-American oral histories, cemetery records, and a long-run collection of the Blue Anchor magazine. The collection is provided in partnership with the Placer County Genealogical Society.

Adjacent to the Local History Collection is the Genealogy Collection. Holdings are world-wide with emphasis  on the United States, including immigration indexes, military indexes, and colonial-era research. The collection is provided by the Placer County Genealogical Society.
